House League Selection
This Wednesday Nov 04 is the Division 1 team selection and next Monday Nov 09 is for Division 2 team selection. The first round of house league will begin by Nov. 16th.
If you haven’t submitted your name for house league please do it immediately before selections begin!
2009-11-27-29 – North American Table Tennis Team Championships
Congratulations to Team Scarborough 2 (Sam Cai, Lan Truong, Kam Bhatia and Carvo Grant) for placing 2nd in the G division! This year was the biggest in attendance for the tournament and Scarborough 2 was able to battle it’s way to the division final! Catch some of the action here.

As of Sept 14th we will be back at J.S.Woodsworth! We’re currently accepting membership with an early registration price of $150 – Save $20. ($140 for Seniors – Save $13) This price is available until the end of Oct and will give you access to all SKTTC clubs! SPECIAL FOR LADIES 1/2 price until end of 2009!

Congratulations to Jorge Ospina & Lan Truong who claimed 3rd prize in the Team Under 3200 points at the Asian Community Games July 19, 2009! They put on a great effort losing to the 1st place team in the quarter finals and had to settle for 3rd. Thanks to brightway.ca for taking some great pictures.

SKTTC STRIKE PLAN – updated July 28, 2009
As you are aware, the Toronto strike has interrupted the table tennis scheduled at Don Montgomery C. R. C.
To reduce the inconvenience this has caused it’s members SKTTC will provide the members with playing time at other locations until we can get back in the gym at Don Montgomery. Playing time will be organized as close as possible to our currently scheduled playing times and dates.
Since we understand receipts are generally not provided we will have an SKTTC representative on site to pay the “drop-in” rate on your behalf. Please contact the SKTTC Rep. upon your arrival.
Currently scheduled “Kings” playing locations, Club representatives, and times on site are as follows:

Sunday Aug. 1 –The following notice is posted on the Toronto web site.
Community centres are scheduled to re-open for casual use on Friday, July 31. Drop-in programs, permits, in-person registration and other administrative functions will resume on Wednesday, August 5.
There has been no answer at the Community Centre yesterday or today but the City of Toronto information centre said if there is an answer tomorrow morning our permit should be available otherwise the community centres should all be open on Tuesday.
If there is no answer at Don Montgomery tomorrow morning (416-396-4043) Larry will be at My Table Tennis Club from 2 pm until 6 pm. to pay for Kings members.
Tuesday Aug.4, 2009 – Confirmed that SKTTC will open again on Sunday Aug 9th.

This is to inform you that due to the continuation of the City Worker strkie at the City of Toronto, Scarborough Kings has no choice but to CANCEL the 2009 Scarborough Kings Summer Giant Round Robin this Sunday at Mid Scarborough Community Centre; As some of you know that the Community Centre is own and operated by the City of Toronto; Scarborough Kings will try to reschedule the tournament date as soon as the strike is over!!!

Sunday – To all participants enrolled in the SKTTC Summer Giant Round Robin this Sunday June 28, 2009. Due to the unexpected Toronto City Worker Strike this tournament may be cancelled if City and Workers are unable to resolve by the end of the week. We will keep you informed.

HAPPY NEW YEAR! 
We’re back at J.S.Woodsworth
The Principle at J S Woodsworth, Janice Searles, has advised us the gym will be available for our return on Monday January 5.The playing times will the same as before the fire and as shown on the SKTTC web site "Play Schedule".
House League is starting!
The first week will see the selection of the teams for first and second Divisions. Everyone is encouraged to come out to witness the picking of teams (Monday, Division 2 and Wednesday, Division 1) and get in some practice before the league starts playing the following week. Details are available from Edmond Ching (416-293-6317).
